Safety First ~ Food safety is vital to everyone associated with Gourmet Trading Company, from farm managers to the ultimate consumer. All of our growers are involved in a rigorous third-party audit system, using licensed independent labs operating under HACCP and GAP* standards. These audits ensure that all our products, no matter their origin, meet or exceed the required safety regulations.
Gourmet Trading aims to achieve the highest possible level of service to our customers without compromising the Food Safety and Quality of our products. We recognize and accept our responsibility as a fresh produce supplier, utilizing only the highest quality parameters on harvesting, transportation, cold storage and handling activities on our fresh products assures the delivery of a safe product to the final consumer. Our primary concern is to operate based on a preventive approach to assure the safety and quality of our products, and to comply and exceed all relevant legislation and industry approved codes of practice. We had developed and implemented a Good Manufacturing Practices Standard on our facilities and a Good Agricultural Practices Standard on our farms in order to meet and maintain our Food Safety and quality commitment, these programs are HACCP based and are reviewed at least annually. Training to our employees is just one section of these programs since we knowledge that employees play an important role on Food Safety.
Being in the United States, Japan and the European Community our main markets we need to make sure to comply with all the requirements, country and market specific, this is one of the reasons why we are certified under a program recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (FGSI) and we support and help all our suppliers on achieving a Global certification.
